These 4 pods in Redpath Library basement can hold up to 10 students each
Room B, Redpath Research Commons: These booths, available in the same research commons room which also offers five 3D printers, a 3D scanner, and an HTC Vive, cater mainly to small group meetings. These three collaboration booths can accommodate a flexible number of people, but 6 is a recommended maximum. To request a booking, consult Research Common Booking System.
For all McGill students, the group study rooms offered in McGill's various libraries is an excellent resource to take advantage of for design teams meetings and discussions. They offer spacious study spaces that are perfect for people who prefer studying in groups, need to host meetings/interviews, or as a place to collaborate in a think tank-like environment. Group study rooms are in many libraries, such as McLennan and Redpath, and you can visit the booking system (linked below) to check the availabilities of all these rooms.

Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer-generated immersive environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real way by the user using special equipment like a headset or controllers Augmented Reality (AR) overlays a digital image or environment over the existing “real” one that users can interact with? Ex: Pokemon Go
McGill has one HTC Vive and one Microsoft HoloLens available to book for use in the library. This service is available for free to current students and faculty - to book:
• Check availability for VR and AR via McGill's booking service. Booking is required at least 24 hours in advance (not including weekends).
• Select the time and date you'd like to reserve with the equipment. You will receive a confirmation to your McGill email.
• Check in with the staff member in the Research Commons (RM-22A, in Research Commons Room B) at the predetermined time. Staff will provide access to the equipment. Please arrive within 15 minutes of the reservation start time or it will be canceled.
• Before using VR/AR for the first time, you will have to sign a waiver. Staff will provide the waiver and brief instructions when you arrive.
Room A, Redpath Research Commons: This large group meeting room can accommodate a large number of people, with over 40 chairs and 18 tables which can be arranged in a variety of settings. It also offers a 4x2 video wall, with eight 55-inch TV screens that can be manipulated with the assistance of Research Commons staff, as well as through the use of detailed instructions in the room. Priority for booking is given to events using the room's technology, and to units partnered with the Research Commons – however, it can be used by any current McGill student, faculty and staff for research-related events and training sessions.
